MiJung Choe Trepanier is a concert pianist, educator, and certified Alexander Technique teacher whose career bridges musical expression and embodied awareness. With over 20 years of international experience, she has performed as a soloist and chamber musician across the United States, South Korea, Bolivia, Puerto Rico, France, and Austria. She has appeared with orchestras in both Korea and the U.S., and was selected as a touring artist by the Michigan Humanities Council’s Performance Touring Program.
Dr. Trepanier holds a D.M.A. in Piano Performance from Michigan State University and has taught at Southern Utah University, Alma College, Saginaw Valley State University, and Birmingham-Southern College. A dedicated pedagogue, she frequently presents on piano technique, performance, and practice strategies. Her workshops include The Logic of Fingering: 10 Unique Siblings of Our Hands, Take a Piece from Start to Performance, and How to Practice: Goals, Planning, and Tools.
She is also a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique through Alexander Technique International. After completing her training at the Philadelphia School for the Alexander Technique, she has offered private lessons, group classes, and workshops for musicians, dancers, actors, and other performing artists. She has taught at Interlochen Arts Camp, universities, community groups, and in private practice. Her AT presentations include The Power of the Pause: Applying Alexander Technique to Music Teaching, Learning, and Performing. Her AT teaching emphasizes ease, coordination, and the integration of mind and body to support artistic freedom and injury prevention—highlighting the profound role AT can play in transforming how we move, teach, and perform.
